In the autumn of 1936, the Ningbo Defense Command built a batch of steel-concrete military bunkers (bunkers) in Zhenhai in accordance with the requirements of the "Ningbo District Coastal Defense Equipment Implementation Plan" formulated by the National Defense Department of the Republic of China to fight against the Japanese imperialist armed invasion. .
In the War of Resistance Against Japan, these bunkers played a pivotal role and repeatedly repelled Japanese attacks.

The patriotic soldiers and civilians of Zhenhai fought fiercely with the Japanese invaders in Zhaobaoshan, Qijiashan and other places, killing and wounding more than 400 Japanese soldiers, making the enemy panic. "Veteran who never died"
At that time, the border was moved and the smoke dissipated. Today, there are still many historical witnesses in the Zhaobaoshan and Houhaitang areas in Zhenhai. They are like a group of "veterans who never die", still defending the front line of the eastern Zhejiang portal.
In 2005, the eight remaining anti-Japanese bunkers were announced by the People's Government of Zhenhai District as a district-level cultural protection unit, and at the same time reminded people that the alarm bell will ring forever and don't forget the history!
